Therapy Services
Together, we navigate the intricacies of being human and work towards a more connected and fulfilling life.
Therapy for Feeding Challenges
Feeding difficulties can lead to a host of concerns, impacting not only a child's physical health but also their emotional well-being. Following two years of immersive experience within CHLA’s Interdisciplinary Feeding Clinic, I approach feeding challenges holistically, acknowledging the complex interplay between physical, sensory, behavioral, and emotional factors. Using evidence-based interventions tailored to each child's specific needs, I combine my deep understanding of child psychology with in-depth knowledge of feeding therapy techniques to address feeding concerns and help children develop a more positive relationship with food. My goal is to help families create a nurturing feeding environment within their homes. As such, caregivers are active participants in most feeding cases.
Therapy for Cultural Identity Matters
As a bicultural psychologist, I understand the significance of cultural identity in shaping an individual's life experiences and emotional well-being. For individuals from diverse backgrounds living in the U.S., cultural identity can be a source of pride, but it can also present challenges and conflicts. These challenges can manifest in various ways: difficulty balancing traditional values with the pressures of assimilation, intergenerational conflicts, or a sense of shame, confusion, or cultural loss. Through therapy, you’ll have the opportunity to reflect on these challenges, identify ways to reconcile conflicting expectations, and develop strategies to navigate your cultural identity with confidence and authenticity.
Therapy for Chronic Illness
Living with chronic illness and enduring constant pain can be an isolating and overwhelming journey. The physical and emotional toll it takes can leave you feeling helpless, frustrated, and alone. While chronic illness and pain may never fully disappear, therapy offers a safe and supportive space to better understand the psychological impacts of your condition, manage pain-related stress and anxiety, improve communication with your healthcare teams, and promote a sense of control and empowerment over your own healthcare journey. If you’re the family member of someone grappling with a difficult medical diagnosis, therapy can also help you navigate your own emotions and develop effective strategies to support your loved one. My background at some of California's most distinguished children’s hospitals has equipped me with an in-depth understanding of the complexities surrounding chronic illness and pain during some of the most formative years of one’s life.
Therapy for Adolescents & Young Adults
Adolescence and young adulthood is a time of profound change and self-discovery. These years are marked by identity formation, the search for autonomy, and navigating the challenges of growing up. Thus, providing support and guidance during these formative years is crucial. I offer services designed to help young individuals build strong emotional foundations, cope with stressful life transitions, and develop the skills to thrive in the face of unique occupational, social, and personal challenges. Through self-reflection and introspection, we'll work on building resilience, solidifying a stronger sense of self, establishing more fulfilling relationships, and developing life skills to prepare you for a successful future in an ever-changing world.
